Our Tree + Affordable Holiday Decor

I can’t believe how fast 2020 went by. Between COVID-19 and the election, I think we’re all ready to start decorating for the holidays. Which is why I wanted to put together a guide dedicated to all of my Christmas decor. I bet you can’t guess how much I paid for my new faux tree! Lets get into it!

So let me just preface this by saying my husband wanted to cut down a tree SO badly. I had to remind him that 1. We live in one of the coldest places in the United States and 2. There’s absolutely no way in hell I was going to wait until AFTER Thanksgiving to get our tree up. Haha! Does anyone else think this way?

I knew I wanted a flocked tree this year but didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg for it. Target definitely has some great options (especially when they go on sale) but I ultimately went with this Walmart tree instead! It was only $69 and looks amazing in our home!

I was worried the flocking would get all over the place or the tree wouldn’t be completely “full” but I was so wrong. It’s better than any other tree we’ve had in the past + it included pre-strung white lights! Helloooo beautiful aesthetic.

Moving onto our tree skirt…this along with so many other things that are shown above, are scooped from the Target Bullseye section. If you’re not familiar with the Target Bullseye area, it’s basically a part of the store where things are priced between $1 and $10 ($10 being the absolute most I’ve ever seen). The tree skirt is from last season so I doubt it’s still available but things like our throw pillows, wooden trees, garland, signs, etc. should all be getting stocked at your local store. I highly recommend RUNNING to Target because this section sells out fast!

Here are some other contenders that I was looking at when choosing our tree this year, as well as some fun ornaments I’m planning on grabbing! Do you normally go with a traditional red and green color scheme or are you more of an out of the box decorator?

Despite my love for this Walmart tree, I am mostly dedicated to Target and purchased pretty much everything else from there. Most of the ornaments they carry are under $5-$10 and have lasted us a few years. I’m a big fan of their plastic ornament sets too. They make a “theme”, easy to attain! I should also add that the plastic sets are great for family households. After all, toddlers like to touch EVERYTHING.
