Navigating The Second Trimester Struggles
The second trimester has really hit me hard during this pregnancy, leaving me feeling more exhausted than ever. While my motivation has increased, by the end of the day, all I want to do is sleep. The most frustrating part is that pregnancy insomnia keeps me awake, which is why I felt compelled to write this post.
With both of my daughters, my pregnancy symptoms were fairly typical and manageable, aside from the awful morning sickness I experienced with each. This time around, my nausea subsided after the first trimester, and thankfully, I haven't been seriously ill, except for one instance. However, I've been dealing with some other symptoms, including…
Phantom smells: I've been constantly smelling cigarette smoke, but apparently, it's all in my head, according to Google and my doctor. Haha!
Groin pain: The intensity of this pain can be so severe that it sometimes feels like I'm being electrocuted. Super fun.
Bloating: I know I'm pregnant, but there are moments when I feel like a human bowling ball.
Food aversions: Foods I once loved now seem repulsive, and I'm only craving salty or spicy options.
Heartburn: Heartburn has to be one of the worst parts of pregnancy and my cravings are not helping the situation.
Leg cramps: These are just plain annoying.
Can anyone else relate to these? Despite my symptoms, I rarely show a baby bump until well into my third trimester. Strange, right? I'm eager to hear about the symptoms or unusual experiences you've had during your pregnancies!
