5 Apps Every Beginner Blogger Needs

As a blogger, I utilize many tools that range from design to growth resources and everything in between. Because of this, I thought I would dedicate a post entirely to a few apps I use daily. Whether you need help with graphics or enhancing your social media - these apps will help move you in the right direction.

Canva is my #1 top app and platform that I use for design efforts. No, you don’t need a graphic designer to start a blog or create beautiful things. Canva can help you create banners, email templates, Pinterest posts, and more. Best of all, it’s user-friendly. It usually takes about 15 to 25 minutes to create a graphic for my site (not to say it can’t take less or more time because it definitely can). But my point is that ANYONE, yes, ANYONE, can use this tool.

Did I mention it’s FREE?! The free version of Canva has loads of templates already. But, if you’re looking for more, I highly suggest subscribing to Canva Pro. The pro version will unlock additional graphics, fonts, and more. It’s such a steal for the amount of access you get in return!

Next is the Unfold app. This resource is perfect for those who like a more minimalistic style. It allows you to play with select fonts and photo templates but lacks the option for too much creativity. I tend to use Unfold for photo polls on Instagram or for creating multiple stories quickly.

Inshot is a great video editing app that I use for TikTok. Inshot has a feature that allows you to extract existing audio from a video - making it easy to create your original sounds. More often than not, “original audio” will perform better on TikTok and Instagram so, I use this for skit-type reels or short video content.

Hashtag Expert! What a lifesaver this has been lately. The app gives hashtag groups a grade - A, B, C, D, and F (based on many different factors like date and popularity). I love using the sliding scale feature. It allows you to see what hashtags will work best for the number of followers you have. This feature makes it easy for me to post on the go without spending too much time going through my potential hashtags.

Lastly, TrendTok. This app is for my TikTok lovers. It’s the perfect tool for tracking trending sounds and getting ahead of the algorithm. A green arrow means that a sound is currently popular, a red arrow indicates the sound is likely going to fall in popularity, and a blue dot indicates the sound is expected to trend soon. You’re able to track by country and worldwide too!
